A quick little post to capture the latest happenings before we are off on our next adventures.Tomorrow my parents arrive for their visit!!! Can’t wait! It seems that most of our outstanding household items and issues are getting resolved just in time. As I type, I have a series of workers coming and going, assembling wardrobes, removing the last of the rental furniture, and delivering some of the remaining pieces. We are still waiting on our bed and our dining room chairs, but hopefully in the next week or so, those too will arrive.
My neighbor was kind enough to introduce me to an excellent greenhouse/nursery with full service and terrific quality. There I have been spending a lot of time (and money) trying to get the balcony and the house spruced up. I’m also doing that thing where you desperately resist buying your summer plants and flowers until it warms up a bit more. The forecast shows temps dipping into the upper 30s over the next few days. It’s been depressingly rainy for the past couple days, but it should clear up over the next few days.
Last week, my friend Lindsay visited from Budapest for a few days (yay!). We went on a photo walk and grabbed some yummy food. Yesterday we had some new friends over for brunch and on Saturday we went to the Frülingsfest with our neighbors and friends. Larry is again traveling internationally and fighting a cold.
The kids are doing fine. Elliot is learning guitar and training for his upcoming week-long bicycle trip along the Danube. Meredith is still enjoying fußball and yoga, is now practicing Buddhism (wish her a happy new year on Friday) and has returned to vegetarian. Both kids, unfortunately are still mostly unhappy at and with their school. We are biding our time and trying to be patient. This time next year I am confident they will be fully adjusted and happy.
